The IEEE Control Systems Society is offering funds to partially offset the expense of dependent care for registrants at the 2026 IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (CDC 2026). Limited funds are available, which will be allocated not to exceed $500 and the available funding.

DISCLAIMER: IEEE Control Systems Society and the CDC 2026 are not responsible for selecting or supplying dependent care services. The parents/guardians are responsible for arranging dependent care during the conference.

Eligibility:
  • Current IEEE CSS Members, any grade, and be in at least their second year of continuous IEEE CSS membership.
  • Submission of the IEEE CSS Family Care Grant application form here.
  • Submission of a brief narrative proposal (part of application) summarizing need; NOTE: this submission is not expected to include any detailed health information.
  • Disclosure of having received any other IEEE CSS Family Care Grant in the past 2 years.
  • Applicants must state, and verify if asked, that they will be an active participant in the conference. Examples include: as a presenting author of a plenary, paper, or poster; as a participant in a panel, workshop, or similar; and/or have an economic need. Priority is given to active participants.

To ensure efficient use of the fund in case the grant recipient is unable to use it, alternative eligible applicant(s) will be selected internally during the application evaluation and selection process to make the grant available to them in the future.  

If the grant recipient has a last-minute cancellation, the alternative eligible applicant(s) will be notified regarding the grant opportunity. 

Final grant disbursement is dependent on the submission of a post-event report, including a brief statement on associated expenses, submitted by the recipient within 30 days after the conclusion of the conference.
